The rules are short, and they come down to one idea: every Golli Goth carries the names of the people who made her possible.

The Guidelines

These are printed on the pattern itself, word for word:

Maker & Designer Guidelines and Rules: Golli Goth was created to give makers and designers a unique product to craft and sell, enhancing handmade offerings that support community groups and teens. Designers can create and offer clothing patterns, eye styles, hair designs & accessories for makers to use in their handmade rag dolls. Makers can incorporate various designs into their Golli Goth rag doll creations and sell their handcrafted items at markets, fairs, and online platforms that focus on handmade goods.

The pattern is for personal use. If you’re making more than 12 dolls, register for a Maker account.

Building a Product Code

A Product Code is five parts joined with hyphens:

  1. Universe: GG for Golli Goth, or WF for a Wish Faerie.
  2. Creator code(s): whose character or visual design you used, e.g. CAS012.
  3. Designer code(s): whose garment design you used, e.g. DBT001.
  4. Your Maker code: e.g. MCR045.
  5. Your product number: three digits, counting your own dolls — 001, 002 and on.

Used more than one creator or designer? List them together, separated by a slash.

Worked examples

Three dolls, three codes

GG-CAS012-DBT001-MCR045-001

Maker MCR045’s first doll: a Golli Goth with Creator CAS012’s character and Designer DBT001’s outfit.

GG-CAS012-DBT001/DLK007-MCR045-002

Her second doll wears garments from two designers, DBT001 and DLK007, so both are credited.

WF-CAS012-DBT001-MCR045-003

Her third is a Wish Faerie — same codes, with WF at the front.

On tags & listings

Wherever the doll is sold — a market table, a fair, an online platform for handmade goods — include:

  • the doll’s name, if she has one
  • her full Product Code
  • credits for the creator(s), designer(s) and maker, by code
  • the line Golli Goth remains the IP of its creator, L. Douglass.
  • a pointer to the registry: Verify this code at golligoth.com/registry

A listing might read:

Willow Moon — a handmade Golli Goth rag doll.
